Introduction
What is Stepwise Job?
Stepwise Job is a Jira Cloud Addon to plan and manage the dependencies of the issue. It allows users to organize what’s needed and monitor the progress with a tree view UI for completion on the job.
Getting Started
We currently only have Cloud version for this addon. You can install it from Atlassian Marketplace or within your Jira cloud site.
After installing the addon, you could see the button “Stepwise Job” in the toolbar for issues.
Clicking the button “Stepwise Job“ will display the section for Stepwise Job in the issue view panel.
Clicking the button “Create Job” will open the dialog for creating a new job for the current issue.
Selecting “Todo Task” from the dropdown “Add New Step/Group“, you will see one step is added into the tree component on the left side of the page, and it will load a form for editing the content of this step.
Work as a Simple Todo Check List
You could add Todo Tasks as many as you want to consist of a Todo Check List.
Group Items as You want
You can use Group to organize the steps in different groups.
Track Status of Issues and get Auto Notification
You can use “Issue Status Check” to track the issues you want by adding them one by one manually if you selected “Fixed Issues” for the field “Issue Source”.
Track Issues by Conditions
Sometime you want to track a set of issues under a condition, for example, all issues with a label, or issues of a release/fix-version. You can select “Filter by Conditions” for the field “Issue Source” of the Issue Status Check step.
Email Notification when a step is completed
For Todo Task step, user can click the button “Complete” to mark it as completed. Once a step is completed or undone, an email will be automatically sent to the users who is any of Assignee, Reporter or Watchers of this issue.
For Issue Status Check step, it will send out the email when the status of all the specified issues matches the defined status.
