What is Easy Draft for Jira?

Easy Draft for Jira is a Jira Cloud Addon to give the users ability to create drafts for Jira issues without actually creating them. The drafts are private and only viewable and editable for the current user who created them. Once the information is filled for a draft and user is comfortable with it then it can be converted to a real Jira issue and visible to other people.

Getting started to create a draft

Step 1 - Install the app

You can search “Easy Draft for Jira” from Atlassian Marketplace and then install it to your Jira Cloud instance.

Step 2 - Open the Create draft dialog from Apps menu

To create a draft, you can select menu “Create draft” from Apps on the Jira top bar. Alternatively you can use the shortcut by pressing “X” from your keyboard to open it when you are on any page in Jira.

Step 3 - Input summary and description for the new draft

Step 4 - Convert the draft to an Jira issue

Once you created the draft, you can convert it from Draft edit page or My drafts page.

Manage my drafts

You can select the menu item “My drafts (press X to create”” from personal menu to enter the My drafts page.
